The Vitruvian Man series…
… was born in 2019 from the reflection on how external elements, and social, cultural and environmental constraints influence the life of man.
The classic concept of the perfect man placed in the centre of the universe decays, and metamorphic, twisted bodies shaped by space and time take its place.
The square module is the compressed space in which the Virtruvian Man redefines limits, corporeality, and feelings, all of which are his own.
The series now has 8 pieces of work on canvas in a 70 x 70 cm format.
I Prigioni (The Slaves)
… is a series with which I pay tribute to master artist Michelangelo.
The inspiration arose as I was working on the “Vitruvian Man” series, in which I face the theme of the relationship between man and space.
Empty space has turned into a full element in which bodies remain imprisoned, just like in Michelangelo’s “I Prigioni”, wherefrom this series’ name is influenced.
X 3
The X3 series was born as an experimentation pertaining to a brief painting session, working simultaneously on three subjects linked by a single, common theme.
In order to contrast the strain of solitude in quarantine, during the COVID-19 emergency, I’ve tried my hand at “quick and easy” pieces that favored a slightly lighter and softer mood by using supports and tools at my disposal different from the ones that I would normally use.
The sensation I acquired by painting with this technique was pleasant, brisk, immediate and left no room for any anxiety.
One page grafic novel
This gallery collects paintings with different subjects which nevertheless share my personal approach towards narrative painting. Each work is conceived as an illustrated, one-page story.
